Documentary about the 2006 South Dakota Abortion Ban to be Released

So remember back in 2006 when the South Dakota legislature, as a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade, decided to ban abortions in almost all cases including pregnancies resulting from rape or incest?

Yes?! No?! Well, whatever the case may be, it doesn't matter because guess what? A new documentary, Unplanned Democracy, by filmmaker Denise Ross is coming out soon that documents the intense political battle.

"2006 was an historic election in SD. It is believed that the vote on the extreme abortion ban in SD was the first time the issue of abortion had been put to the democratic process in the United States. It was a pivotal event in state and national politics," said Kate Looby, South Dakota State Director for Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota.
