This letter to the editor is a difficult one for me to respond to because
it's so out there, that it's hard to argue with a point of view that is so
irrational.
But, I think it's essential to point out (once again) that South Dakota has
some of the most restrictive laws in the country surrounding abortion. We also
have one of the lowest rates of abortion in the nation.
Mr. Albert's letter is full of inaccuracies. The truth is that women and
families take these very difficult decisions very seriously.
Banning abortion does absolutely nothing to reduce the number of abortions
performed. It only makes it dangerous and sometimes even deadly.
